Candidates sought for a one-year
Visiting Faculty Position beginning in Fall 2007 to teach in a
developing Master of Arts in Integrated Science for Teachers program.
The position may be renewed, depending on the success of the program.
The successful candidate will be committed to improving science
education in grades K-12. Duties will include developing and
implementing inquiry based courses designed to increase the content
knowledge and pedagogical skills of middle school science teachers. The
primary responsibility will be Earth Science courses, both graduate
courses for the Masters program and undergraduate courses. Individuals
with an interdisciplinary background who also could contribute to the
areas of Astronomy, Geology and Physical Science are encouraged to
apply. The Ph.D. in
Earth Science, Geology, Physics or related field is preferred.
The Master of Arts in Integrated Science for Teachers program was
initially developed as part of the NSF funded Math Science Partnership
with the
Cleveland
Municipal
School District
